Will her endorsement take Democratic swing voters away from Hillary? Will it take more women voters away from Hillary? What are your thoughts? Will Oprah's endorsement of Barack Obama dramatically hurt the Clinton campaign?
Does it matter?
Do you really think either can win the national election? Will Oprah's endorsement of Barack Obama dramatically hurt the Clinton campaign?
Although there are a few people who can be swayed by celebrity endorsements, most people don't pay them much attention so I'd have to say no.
yes, im sick of it...
i like hilary
Oprah's endorsement of Obama is the most racist thing I've seen in a long time. Why has she stayed out of politics UNTIL a black man shows up? I may support Obama, but it will NOT be because he is black. I would not support a person based on race. What we need are issues. Has Oprah made it plain what issues she is backing Obama on? If she has I would like to know about it. Right now it has the appearance of a skin game, which makes both of them look stupid.
no every one here in our town is going to vote for Hillary. so she can be pres and slick willie be vice . now does that not make sense.?
I think it will hurt the entire Democratic party.... the generations-long practice of ';pandering'; to certain groups will finally divide them..... one candidate will have the ';black democrat'; voters, another will have the ';women democrat'; voters etc etc.
Whatever happened to Democrat candidates like JFK and Harry Truman ?
women and blacks, two groups that were solidly behind Hillary up untill a few weeks ago are already starting to switch over to Obama even before Oprah got involved
Oprah just gives Obama a chance to reach out to people that were not necissarily looking at him already
the Obama steam roller is warming up and ready to go!
Obama '08
i would think that it would have little effect in the long run. unless Oprah is going to be campaigning with Barack Obama, her ';endorsement'; (which is ONLY because he's black) should (hopefully!) ware off
no
Billary has hurt herself more than any celebrity endorsement ever will.
Mike...
In the end she will back a Clinton-Obama ticket and energize the Democrats, especially the women vote. Obama is doing well in Iowa, but he's still behind in New Hampshire. The real test will be South Carolina, where Hillary is leading him among black voters.
This will only impact some 'on the fence.' For those of us with our own minds, won't make bit of difference. Matter of fact for me, it further distances any chance of reconsidering.
Oprah with Obama has made me feel like Politics is a Bussiness too. What is she doing there instead of doing her regular tv show. that's my view. Sorry if anyone is hurt!
It will hurt her chances, but she has already done enough damage to herself already. WE are ok with a woman president, we just are not ok with Hillary as President.
Probably...since Oprah's show is being watched by millions of women who adore and respect her, many may follow her endorsement of Barack...these votes would've gone to senator Clinton if it weren't for the new endorsement :)
