What did McCain achieve when he suspended his campaign to go ';save'; the economy?

Does this how erratic he can behave in the face of a crisis? What did McCain achieve when he suspended his campaign to go ';save'; the economy?
You talk as if McCain was the only one that went, he wasn't. 0bama went too and he also did nothing. Now if you're going to call McCain erratic, it also applies to 0bama.

What I believe he was trying to do was show the country what a great guy he was by suspending his campaign, and postponing the debate to address what was at the time a financial crisis.

Unfortunately for John McCain, he forgot that the economy is one of his weakest areas and he basically didn't do anything at all once he got to Washington according to most sources.

Let's face it...John McCain is just plain out of touch with what the people of this country are looking for. Instead of pounding into our brains what he will do once he is president, he spends all of his time with that idiot Joe the plumber, and attacking Obama. He lost touch with the general public when he chose Palin as his sidekick. She isn't intelligent and has no real political future beyond what she has in Alaska. They have a saying that goes something like, ';We, as individuals hope that we never rise to the level of our incompetence.'; If Palin makes it to vice president, she will have gotten to that level.
he achieved absolutely nothing, and its actually one of the reasons that i was cast into total doubt about voting for the Palin/McCain ticket (arrangement of names purposeful) it was a stunt to make the nation think that he actually cared, and it might have worked, if he actually did care, and if he hadnt been at the head of congress passing the single most horrendous and wastful spending bill that this nation has ever seen. i thought it was a terrible thing for him to do, and i was very saddened by it.
He didnt suspend his campaign. that was a big fat lie mccain told. he went to washington while mccain ads continued to run, while his aides continued to spin stories, while palin continued to campaign.

the campaign wasnt suspended. mccain just went to washington and did nothing for two days.
he was able to come to the agreement that the original would fail and he saw to it and then in the new one people like ACORN were removed. He did pretty good and Obama said call me when you need me and the Pres told him to get his black azz there now. Obama then started an argument in the chambers and they just told him to go away for a while, men and women at work
It shows that he thought it was in his best political intererst to pretend to set aside his best political interest. It would have worked if Obama had panicked and taken the bait. But he didn't, showing that McCain is the second-best politician running for president this year.
Well, it does worry me, he threw himself into delicate negotiations and may have actually caused more harm than good by rash, poorly considered action. Not a model of how I want my country's leader to behave in times of crisis.
Obama was there too. Pelosi elected him to do the talking in the oval office and he was a total embarrassment. It was in the news, but of course CNN and CSNBC didn't report on it.
He was doing his job as a Senator.

The debate he wanted to postpone is far more meaningless than the financial crisis. You'd to well to read up on the 1930s.
managed to fool some people he actually cared, despite him admitting he knows little about the economy.
He achieved a speedy retirement.
Proved he is suffering from Alzheimers.
Absolutely nothing.
he just wanted to appear like a leader,

funny that white house had already decided on the bailout!
not a damn thing. whats crazy is his supporters that are okay with this.
