Do you agree with McCain campaign manager Rick Davis when he says this election is not about issues?

Unfortunately, it seems not to be about the issues.

It is amazing, McCain picks a female, says the republicans suck and that they will change things and suddenly people want more republican leadership because the vp pick is cute and perky and 'sounds' like a regular person??

I really fear for the future of the country.Do you agree with McCain campaign manager Rick Davis when he says this election is not about issues?
I think that McCain is trying to make the election less about the issues because he knows that in order to get the majority of his party he basically has to have the same policies as Bush (when half the country is republican and a third of people support bush... it means that the majority of republicans must still support bush).

Xiphos: What are you talking about? He said it, and the context is less than convincing. Actual quote: “This election is not about issues,” Davis said. “This election is about a composite view of what people take away from these candidates.'; (taken from yahoo news)

Now, I understand that he's saying that issues are a part of the campaign. But that's not the point here. The point is that Davis was basically saying that it didn't matter than people tend to be wrong about what McCain's positions are and that most people strongly disagree with him on said issues.Do you agree with McCain campaign manager Rick Davis when he says this election is not about issues?
sadly, yes Americans are too stupid to grasp issues, they need to be told what to think and are happy to follow. GO MOBS GO! (sarcasm)

We need to demand this election get to the issues, by not turning on any program (News media) that slips away from them.

I don't care about the fact that Sarah got her degree from a matchbook cover, i do care that she is PRO-life, Pro-gun, pro-war. You can't have an abortion, but we'll make sure there are guns in every household and a war on every Continent.

WOOO HOOO GO REPUBLICANS! (more sarcasm)
The rest of the election is not about ideas or issues. It is true. The 2 thirds of the people that care about issues made up thieir minds a long time ago. The last third will decide based on looks, and charisma. What else could they do with McCain running on Obama's platform and having no memory of either candidate.
i agree with xiphos, yet another statement from the republican camp taken out of context. oh well, we better just get used to it.....the left wing media is trying to brainwash all of us to vote for obama!
He says that because his side sucks on the issues.

Unfortunately he is somewhat correct. people tend to vote w/ their emotions rather than actually thinking about the issues objectively.
Even if it wasn't about issues and it was about personalities, McCain would still lose.

Davis is a joke.
I think what his point was that the election is more about what people see in either candidate as a whole, not how they feel about a person based only an one or two issues.
The next thing you know the Republicans will start saying it's ';not about character'; either.

Then we'll KNOW it's a sign of the end times my friends!

Obama / Biden '08
I think Davis doesn't want it to be about the issues. McCain LOSES on the issues.
No. definitely not.
I think that is what the McCain camp believes.

Yes, for those who always vote for the wrong reasons but not for those who take their vote seriously..
McCain would like for it to not be about issues. They can't win on the issues.
yes
No. But with Obama's socialist agenda it won't matter. McCain's clinched the election.
Another fine example of the Obama media misquoting Republicans.

And you take it as gospel, don't you?

Are they still teaching critical thinking skills these days?
