McCain sure is running a poor campaign. Don't you find that to be unusual for a Republican?

Republican Presidential candidates have traditionally run a tight ship when it comes to Presidential campaigns. McCain's campaign has appeared to be directionless and sloppy so far.McCain sure is running a poor campaign. Don't you find that to be unusual for a Republican?
are you kidding

let me give you 2 examples of very poor republican candidates with dismal runs

dole and bush 1 for his reelection

both half assed their way through the campaigns , and did not get elected because of it. the only reason George H was elected the first time is because of Reagan's popularityMcCain sure is running a poor campaign. Don't you find that to be unusual for a Republican?
At points in this process, McCain has not been well-served by his campaign. That's obvious. He should have had a clear message from the beginning. However, I also find it interesting that he only trails Obama by a few points in the polls. Given the current climate for GOP candidates, and the obvious popularity of Obama, he should be trailing Obama dismally. But, he's not. Obama's campaign people are very good, but in the end what's going to matter is who people trust--Obama or McCain?
McCain is a different politician. Obama is young and energetic. McCain has many years of experience and is a well seasoned campaigner. He has seen more campaigns up close and personal than Obama can probably count. I would expect he has a long range strategy. After all, this is not his first Presidential campaign. I expect you will see a very different type of campaign AFTER the conventions. By that time, BOTH candidates will have to DETAIL their plans (especially tax and spend) and will present the other with meat to go after. Of course, don't expect McCain's campaign to get any more coverage than it is now and don't expect Obama to get anything less than top billing out of CBS. ABC NBC or CNN.
I completely disagree with the idea that Sen. McCain is running a poor campaign. He's being smart and skillfully developing plans that will help increase his popularity with the Republican base. I am very interested to see who he picks for his running mate. I think former Gov. Mitt Romney would be the best choice as he would help Sen. McCain carry Michigan as well as making Massachusetts too close to call headed into November.
Actually; it IS kind of ';Odd...'; It's almost as though there's no ';wind'; to fill McCain's ';Sails';- to give Him any ';Direction'; or ';Momentum...'; And I don't know if it's because of the ';Times';, or the current ';Weaknesses'; of the Republican Party, or McCain's inability to ';get a fire going'; under His Supporters- or WHAT... Maybe Obama really DOES ';take all the Oxygen out of the Room';- when He enters one!
And he is gaining ground on Obama in swing states after what the Obamabots are calling a ';brilliant'; overseas trip.

Typically a trip and this much media attention would give a candiate a bump in the polls, but in swing states, there has been no change or movement in favor of McCain.

Something is working for McCain.

Joseph...perhaps that is why his supporters minds are too weak to see through him. The big question is if he is as awesome as you seem to think why is he only about 1% ahead of McCain nationally, and losing ground in swing states? Probably because he takes all of the trust out of the US anywhere he goes.
I would rather see straight up and honest campaigns anytime. If that bores you, too bad. The dog and pony show being put on by Obama is not going to help him one bit in the long run.

Apparently, you watch a lot of the Liberal Media who have squelched McCain, or tried to, and promoted Obama. 73% of the Americans know this. You should too.
This political campaign has already gone on far too long, I think he's pacing himself for a bigger finish.

Personally, I don't see that it has been ';sloppy';, just not out in front of everyone yet. He's letting Obambi run around and shoot his mouth off.

Works for me!
What he does must work! At one point he was considered to be out of the race for the nomination. I think he has a lot of stick to it resolve that will make him the winner in November!

After spending 5 1/2 years in a North Vietnam prison camp, he must have learned a lot about perseverance!
The GOP had become master practioners of running for office, even though, they have shown little interest in actually governing.

Either way, if McCain can't even run a campaign smoothly, what makes people think he can run the country?
Respectfully disagree, He is ahead of you In OHIO, MICH.

PA, COLO. You need those states badly to win. and your

not going to get them.
McCain is only trailing Obama by 1%.... considering the liberal media is boycotting him, I think he's doing pretty good.
I don't think he's getting his money's worth from some of his campaign staffers, thats for sure. They don't seem as focused as they could be.
McCain is not your typical republican.
I don't know if it's unusual for a Republican, but McCain sure is running a poor campaign.
And yet, he is in a virtual dead heat (i.e. statistical tie) with Obama. Go figure (LOL)
I AGREE HE'S LAME .....SLOGAN LAME MCCAIN...
No Republicans are a dying breed, with the baby boomer's aging and dying off the younger and more progressive generations are becoming more prevalent. Usually Democratic voters are between the ages of 18 and 40 the older crowed tend to be more conservative, which makes perfect sense.Conservatives tend to resist progress and change like old people while younger voters look ahead to the future and are more open minded to the reality of the world. Progress can't be stopped and its futile to try, but don't tell that to the Republican Party it scares them.
